Interesting! I would be suspicious about infections - hands are never 100% clean, and some contamination may have landed on the bags when in the freezer, or on their way in. Of course those can be sanitized... Hmm, how much thermal capacity is there in cold ice? Would be more effective to use those cold packs they sell for campers? -H P.S. I am using the old bucket method, put my pot in a large bucket (50l) of cold water. It used to be pretty slow, but leaving the hos running slowly will produce circulation in the cold water, and speed up the process greatly. I can cool my 18 liter pot in 15-20 minutes. (I try to remember to give the wort a good turn when I take it off the stove, to get some movement in it too - it can not hurt for the cooling time, and it collects the trub in a nice pile in the middle of the pot). -- Heikki Levanto LSD - Levanto Software Development <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
