I read something about this somewhere (hah) and I think the discussion 
went on wheter or not you actually get as much hop extraction when you
just boil it in plain water without any sugars. Have you found anyone
else that has done it before with good hop extraction? 
I use a cfc so I don't have any problems chilling 40 liters of wort in
30 minutes down to pitching temperature.
