Of course not. Actually, wyeast liquid yeasts are better not because of the price, but because they need to be puffed up, made starters for, and generally are more cumbersome to work with ;-) Seriously, the regular Brewferm dry yeast has produced loads of good beers. The "new" dry yeasts have more character, and still easy to use and less expensive than the liquids.
