I have always tried to sanitize my bottles pretty carefully, especially after I had my "bad times" with infections. Rinse when first emptied, then some strong chemicals, rinse, and Iodophor. I take the middle road on rinsing the Iodophor off, I rinse with a minimal amount of cold water, getting most of the stuff out.
