I have not seen beer going bad for staying in a keg, any more than in a
bottle. I seem to recall a guy at the beer festival bragging that he had
a few kegs of 10 year old Cambrinus... I have never had the patience to
test that much.

As long as the temperature is constant, that should be fine. Pilsners
and other lagers would probably like a colder climate, but ales should
do fine.

You'll end up twiddling a bit with the CO2 until you get a nice foam.
Don't worry too much about it in advance. It will be beer anyway :-)
