1040 is often quoted as a good value.
Not that I think it matters all too much - as soon as you make a
starter, even a suboptimal one, you have increased the amount of active
yeast cells by a factor so great, that everything should be fine. Unless
you plan to brew several hundred liters at a time.
As I have said before,
it will be beer anyway
