The blockfile would not be created automatically but similarly to the current logfile. The default command line would be:
ddrescue [options] infile outfile blockfile instead of: ddrescue [options] infile outfile [logfile] When I suggested this idea a few months ago, I was told that it is inconvenient for users who would often have to write --no-blockfile because their use cases don't need it. If that's the case, I suggest to have an "expert" option at compile time so that the default command line becomes: ddrescue [options] infile outfile [blockfile] And many thanks for this wonderful software!
