Oops, I thought I'd started a $ in my previous post, but it was a 3-pointer!
The values in this money game DO look to be on a consistent scale. So, you are correct that the issue only affects match play. My observations about the shading are still correct. 0HPhATDgc/ABMA:MAEAAAAAAAAA Cube analysis 2-ply cubeless equity +0.021 0.506 0.146 0.010 - 0.494 0.140 0.007 Cubeful equities: 1. I get the same issue in a $ game. 0HPhATDgc/ABMA:MAFgAAAAAAAE Cube analysis 2-ply cubeless equity +0.024 (Money: +0.021) 0.506 0.147 0.010 - 0.494 0.140 0.008 Cubeful equities: 1. No double +0.028 2. Double, pass +1.000 (+0.972) 3. Double, take -0.265 (-0.293) Proper cube action: No double, take (23.2%) The top-left corner reads: Centred-1-cube = +0.34 (1-ply) +0.022 (2-ply) Player0 owns 2-cube: -0.134 (1-ply) -0.129 (2-ply) (I couldn't get the values to match the Analysis Pane exactly. I would expect either 2-ply to match 2-ply, or 1-ply map to match 2-ply overall - since the map is inherently 1-ply deeper than the overall analysis.) The range of the scale bar is -0.701 to +0.560 but the limits of the map are: 1-cube 44 = +0.560 2-cube 52 = -0.333 (doubled = -0.666) I think the colouring of the 2-cube side uses the doubled values: 1-cube 42: +0.173 rgb(255, 78, 78) is paler than 2-cube 66: +0.162 rgb(255, 44, 44) -----Original Message----- From: Philippe Michel <philippe.mich...@free.fr> Sent: Wednesday, February 21, 2024 9:49 PM To: Ian Shaw <ian.s...@riverauto.co.uk> Cc: bug-gnubg@gnu.org Subject: Re: Suggestion for improvement of Temperature Map for Cube decisions. This looks like a bug when the position is from match play. For money play the numbers are right (or at least they seem reasonable and the extreme values match the scale).
