Some issues:
- AUTHORS claims to be utf-8 but contains a non-utf-8
character:

- es.utf8.dat differs from the others that have upper-case UTF-8
and if I call it with .international: true and LANG=es_ES.UTF-8
I get english strings (while de_DE.UTF-8, fr_FR.UTF-8, ja_JP.UTF-8,
it_IT.UTF-8 and ko_KR.UTF-8 seem to work)
- the frensh translations of the main buttons to the left are very
long (on 800x600 it's almost a third of the screen). I do not speak
frensh so do not know if or how they can be shortened.
- most translations seem to miss the "savepos" translation or not
translate it at all (e.g. German).
- behaviour if fonts are missing is quite sub-optimal. With Japanese
and Korean one gets a warning to the console and ASCII gibberish
instead of texts. It might be better to detect those errors and
switch back to unlocalized instead.
