Comment #2 on issue 1309 by tdanielsmusic: Consecutive interrupted lyrics from different staves are no longer aligned
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=1309

The obvious workaround, #'padding = #0, does align the lyrics lines,
but would let the words touch in a modified exampel where they sing
at the same time.

This workaround looks fine to me. I can't think of any sensible reason
for wanting lyrics associated with the up staff and the down staff to
be aligned to the same baseline unless they _never_ both occur at the
same time. This is relatively rare. The usual situation, in which up
and down lyrics do occur at the same time, is to have differing baselines
so the lyrics are clearly separated. It would be wrong to make
'padding = 0 the default just to reproduce the 2.12 behaviour. 2.13 is
an improvement in this regard.
