Comment 7 shows, I think, intended behavior after the defaults were changed
to uniformly space lyrics lines

Assuming these are two successive affinity-UP Lyrics, then line them up with
\override VerticalAxisGroup #'inter-loose-line-spacing #'minimum-distance =
##f
(note: #f instead of 0, as per comment 1)
