Comment #3 on issue 1309 by brownian.box: Consecutive interrupted lyrics
from different staves are no longer aligned
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=1309
This workaround looks fine to me. I can't think of any
sensible reason for wanting lyrics associated with the up
staff and the down staff to be aligned to the same baseline
unless they _never_ both occur at the same time.
This is relatively rare.
I guess you mean _never_ -- at the same time *in the same system*?
I'd say it's quite common -- i've attached some excerpts from concertos by
Artem Vedel (1767--1808) and Ektenias by M. Dyletsky( 1630--1690) and S.
Pekalytsky (1630?--?). Please, excuse those misaligned dynamics, rests
etc-etc.
I can't think of any reason why those "system-centered" lyrics should not
be aligned on the same baseline .)
Even if in the prev. or next staves they should be separated by some
padding.
Very probably i've missed something in this discussion, so sorry for the
noise... I hope that's not a noise though .)
