Indeed, I haven't checked MIDI. Looks like a buglet to me.

Then we have to agree to disagree. For me, the issue we are
discussing here is a bug. In any case, we should probably improve the
documentation, mentioning potential problems with grace issues for all
affected grobs (and the current work-arounds, including MIDI).
