No, it should not. It is needed only when building the CVS version
of mailutils and everybody willing to do so should have the right
GNU tools for that (described in detail in README-alpha file)
You are right then, I didn´t know it was needed only for the CVS version
since, as I said earlier, I experienced build failures with both the
stable and the alpha release. But you are right, the errors were
completely different.
