The two strings correspond to two different cases, and different @def*
commands as shown in the TRANSLATORS comment:
#. TRANSLATORS: association of a method or operation name with a class
#. in descriptions of object-oriented programming methods or operations.
#: tta/perl/Texinfo/Translations.pm:588 tta/C/parsetexi/indices.c:493
#, perl-brace-format
msgid "{name} on {class}"
msgstr ""
#. TRANSLATORS: association of a variable or instance variable with
#. a class in descriptions of object-oriented programming variables or
#. instance variable.
#: tta/perl/Texinfo/Translations.pm:599 tta/C/parsetexi/indices.c:504
#, perl-brace-format
msgid "{name} of {class}"
msgstr ""
Do not hesitate to propose different strings.

Not only, "{name} on {class}" translation appears in index entries, at
least in some cases. So there could be an inconsistency in the
translation that has some effect.
