I see, "name" and "category" are used consistently in the document strings.
"Name" is the name of the method (for @deftypemethod) and "category"
is the word "Method" (or translation thereof).

The word "category" is used consistently in the Texinfo documentation
for the type of object being documented and indexed.

I don't have a suggestion to replace the word "category".

This makes me think that the comment for translators is wrong:

#. TRANSLATORS: association of a method or operation name with a class
#. in descriptions of object-oriented programming methods or operations.
  #: tta/perl/Texinfo/Convert/Utils.pm:356 tta/perl/Texinfo/Convert/Utils.pm:360
  #: tta/perl/Texinfo/Convert/Utils.pm:364 tta/C/main/convert_utils.c:756
  #: tta/C/main/convert_utils.c:766
  #, perl-brace-format
  msgid "{category} on @code{{class}}"
  msgstr "{category} de @code{{class}}"

Here "category" is not the name of a method or operation.

The comment should be different from the following comment but it is
identicial.
