As I wrote a few weeks ago, an hint to figure out the origin of the problem is that when swicthing X to use native wscons(4) interfaces, the X bell code was changed. In /usr/xenocara/xserver/hw/xfree86/os-support/bsd/bsd_bell.c the code switched from the #if defined(PCVT_SUPPORT) to the code in the #if defined(WSCONS_SUPPORT) chunk. The old code goes through /sys/dev/wscons/wsdisplay_compat_usl.c to handle the KDMKTOME ioctl() while the "new" one directly calls WSKBDIO_COMPLEXBELL in /sys/dev/wscons/wskbd.c I have not tried to understand the difference yet. > > 2015 Thinkpad X1 Carbon > > OpenBSD 5.9-current (GENERIC.MP) #1998: Wed Apr 27 15:44:04 MDT 2016 > [email protected]:/usr/src/sys/arch/amd64/compile/GENERIC.MP > RTC BIOS diagnostic error 80<clock_battery> > real mem = 8238301184 (7856MB) > avail mem = 7984259072 (7614MB) > mpath0 at root > scsibus0 at mpath0: 256 targets > mainbus0 at root > bios0 at mainbus0: SMBIOS rev. 2.7 @ 0xccbfd000 (66 entries) > bios0: vendor LENOVO version "N14ET28W (1.06 )" date 03/12/2015 > bios0: LENOVO 20BSCTO1WW > acpi0 at bios0: rev 2 > acpi0: sleep states S0 S3 S4 S5 > acpi0: tables DSDT FACP ASF!
