I think I've had at least two turkeys cooked that way. I'm not sure of the oil used. One was a little too well done to eat the skin (I like the skin off a baked turkey) or the wings and legs.
 
We're planning to go in some home-grown grass and corn fed beef this Fall.  Somewhere between 200 and 400 pounds of Angus (anywhere from a quarter to a half steer) for about $2.05 per pound, all custom cut and packaged up.
 
I love chicken but I guess this is cheaper.
 
We're trying to get rid of the wild stuff in the freezer (left over from the ex-Mr. Debbie who was a big hunter/gunner)...
