I'm not aware it has a telnet client worth diddly-squat.

When I started my current job, I asked why telnet was used
instead of ssh, and was told that implementing ssh would be hard
because users wouldn't have a client. Turns out they were all using
putty as a telnet client...

Even my phone has pocketputty on it.
