Well, I found a quick tutorial on cakebaker that I have tried and even that doesn't seem to work.
It is a bare user plugin so I am just uploading it to this group as test_user_plugin.zip. The only thing you would need to change is the user_app_model.php public $useTable = false; Then you can just drop it into any cake framework you have and try it out. If you can get the ajax div to update, my problem may be deep seated with my PHP installation I am guessing.
