What, the ASEAN countries use English to interact among themselve?? D'ohh!! What a shame!! None of the English-speaking countries is a member of ASEAN, and yet ASEAN uses English as their official communication language?? D'ohh!!
You may say it's because none of ASEAN countries would accept the language of another member as the official language, and so they choose English. Well Well, there's a solution, just like in the UN. The solution is, officially every member speaks its own language, and every member has translators to translate the languages of all the other members. Using the English language in an Asian organization simply makes the English-speaking countries, especially the United States, become more arrogant.
