Yes for the most part I have a great job - I always get - Oh, L & D you work in the "happy"department. And while for the most part it is a happy department, things can go terribly wrong. And when that happens it is the most awful place in the world. People expect bad things in ICU, but not when a baby is being born. I have worked in ICU, ER and Trauma and went back to L & D - it was my first true love in nursing. Thanks for the kudos. We don't get enough of them.
