Quiet mooring by S end of Harecastle ready for first thing passage
> Macclesfield
Moor at Gurnett Aqueduct for Macclesfield - the in town moorings are
only good for a short stop. Good pub at Gurnett, the Old Kings Head. If
pinning at Gurnett, go well in from the edge to clear the concrete
below.
Good walk up White Nancy from Bollington Wharf
Miner's Arms at Lyme View Marina (Bridge 18) is very good.
If you moor on the "Deeps" at Poynton, good chance to walk to Lyme Park
(Pemberley in Firth/Ehle Pride and P)
Best mooring for Marple just this side of the town, but noisy at
weekends - better to moor by the deer farm before you reach M, then go
through onto P Forest next day
> Peak Forest
>
Bugsworth and the Navigation, of course. Also Tesco by the junction
there.
