I find it difficult to agree that the Foxton Locks Inn is 'dreadful'. It is a extremely popular and the beer has always been good when I have tried it. Never tried the food but it looks OK at reasonable prices (Perhaps I am too used to London prices!)
The new bridge 61 is very basic but with good beer, you wouldn't go there for the food though. Agre that the Black horse is a friendly pub with OK food, the one Jazz night I spent there was very enjoyable. Have also heard good reports abou the other pub in the village, the Shoulder Of Mutton.
