The SVR million was given by 'Our@ West Midlands Quango (Advantage West
Midlands) set up to give out Government grant money as they see fit in the West
Midlands (Britain) region of the EU. On the Monty, having given money for
certain stages they (AWM) withdrew from funding further restoration as they did
not see it being worth it (and an election was due it is alleged). This held
things up for some years while other ways of funding were explored.

OTOH, the presence of our local Co-op grocery benefits the trade at
the nearby pub, but I doubt the pub owner makes any payment to the
Co-op.

Who paid the million to the SVR?
