The dongles themselves are pretty good pieces of kit and I have tried several of them as an evaluation project at work. Coverage is of course variable. Personally I prefer to leave a 3G compatible mobile phone outside (somewhere inconspicuous) and connect to it via BlueTooth from the laptop.
