Start - 0845
End - 1700 Below Cowley Lock
We woke to another fine day but the weather forecast was very poor for
the day. In the end we only had two heavy showers all day and some very
pleasant sunshine.
We had just set off when a community boat "Dick's Folly" caught us up, as
Diana was off the boat walking the dog I waved them past and caught them
up at the next lock. As they were working the lock and I was in mid
channel I threw the "Dutton Doublet" ally windless to Diana on the
towing path, unfortunately it fell several feet short into the cut, so my
name was mud. We did all the locks to Stocker's Lock with them where we
caught up with another boat and they went down with them. We did meet a
few boats today and stopped for lunch just above Widewater Lock. After
lunch we continued on to stop for the night on the end of the 24 hour
moorings just bellow Cowley Lock. We had been here for about an hour
when a pair of boats came down the lock, winded and moored behind us
well into the winding hole.
