Day - Friday
Start - 0930 Cowley Lock
End - 1830 Little Venice

Last night we had a good meal at The Malt Shovel by the lock and when we
returned to the boat there were three boats moored above the lock on the
water point/lock moorings, one below across the winding hole and two on
the off side.
We pushed off in fine weather at 930 am after walking across the
recreation ground to examine a wooden sculpture of a horse and narrowboat.
This was cut from one tree trunk that fell over the winter and is quite
impressive.
It wasn't long before the rain started and we took a detour down the
Slough arm, we didn't go to the end as we were a bit short on time and
winded after about three and a half miles before continuing our journey to
Little Venice. By now the weather had improved but there was still a lot
of black clouds about. After a short stop at Bulls Bridge to take on
water and supplies from Tesco we headed off down the Paddington Arm
stopping for lunch. We arrived at Little Venice about 6 pm and when
enquiring where our mooring was we were told, between the next two
bridges up to three abreast, find your own spot. As soon as we passed
under bridge 3B we spotted a cruiser sterned boat moored on the towing
path the same length as us so we moored with our front deck level with
their stern which made it very easy to cross with Magic, later we had a
boat the same length as us moor on the outside of us with their stern
against our fore deck making life easy for them.
