Bruce, Admittedly I'm a bit out of touch of late but, traditionally, the top of Perry Barr was always considered a reasonable mooring. We have ourselves moored just north of the M6 in mid-flight without problems. After that I used to recommend Longwood Boat Club at Rushall Top or the Manor Arms as has been mentioned already. I was never overly keen on Brownhills, but Pelsall was always a firm favourite albeit rather close to your final destination.
