We have a small hand-operated machine (no power consumption) for minor items and we save everything else up for visits to a launderette (get the Aylesbury Canal Society's launderette list from the IWA shop). Drying is the major headache for anything washed on board (or caught in the rain), and we have a small spin drier - again very little power consumption or wasted space, and quite efficient. Leaving things spinning on the front deck (if you see what I mean) for half an hour while cruising along, gets them dry enough to finish off in the airing cupboard.
