Since Bruce mentions me, it's true, I certainly wouldn't rule out mooring there. I recognise the situation must have been most distressing for Alan and his mother, but in context it was a minor incident, the sort of thing kids have done for years.
More generally I doubt the usefulness of these sort of postings; they tend to stigmatise areas and pander to people's fears. As I have said before, I once got broken into outside the Toll House at Braunston. Does this mean we should be cautious mooring in Braunston? Well, yes actually. We should be cautious of mooring everywhere. It's the world we live in. OTOH, my first attack of angina was triggered by kids ringing the doorbell and running away, so I'm afraid it's not confined to the cut, but is a part of life, and always has been. We often tie in that area for shopping purposes, but go on into the countryside for overnight mooring. Justice, I'm sure would stay there overnight, so YMMV ;-)) –– All the best Bruce "The superior man knows what is right, the inferior man knows what will sell" Analects of Confucius, circa 500 BCE [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
