No, Brian. It is not the well-known Thread Drift phenomenonomen. This was not a case of the conversation drifting onto a new topic. Other people have complained before about new topics being started by replying to other topics rather than starting a new thread. To those of us reading with a program that threads the topics, such messages are lost in the middle of the original thread and could go unnoticed by some, so it is not in the poster's interest to do it unless they don't want everyone to read their message. I don't want to read about blacking or toilets or mooring auctions or batteries so I usually ignore such topics. It was only by chance that I spotted the message. Thanks to those who mentioned BBC iplayer, but since sending my previous post I had found the programme on iplayer and watched it. It was lucky the programme was on BBC as other channels' watch online facilities are nowhere near as good. I thought it was fairly interesting apart from the dog racing. There were the inaccuracies that you would expect from this type of programme. I was surprised to hear that there are "no boats" on the Royal Canal and that all the canals join the Shannon at Athlone! The next programme will include a trip through Ardnacrusha Lock which has featured in the conversation here a few times.
