Greater use of the long shaft to get off the unexpected shallow bits; Greater use of plank to get you across them; A quick-release weed hatch lock; Shears to cut down enough vegetation to get to the towpath from a mooring; An alarm clock to make an early start while there's still some water. It'll be loads of fun :-) Hopefully it won't get to the point where a tirfor and a few sheets of scrap plywood were, I believe, de rigeur for some canals. Baz
