Hi folks, this ones got me stumped, mind you I'm more of an electron guy ;-)

We are at our narrowboat doing a bit of cleaning, painting etc, This is our
third day, no travelling.

Last night around 3 am the water pump started running continuously, no taps
on etc.

At that time I just switched it off from the switch bank and decided to
check it out today.

It seems that it is pumping continuously but not at full belt. There is a
drain hole near the back of the boat and it seems to be pumping our domestic
water away through that. If I turn a tap on or flush the loo water stops
coming out of the drain hole, but re-commences after few seconds of the
flush or when the tap is turned off..

I checked taps etc no leaks all switched off all seems fine, then it
suddenly it stopped playing up and seemed to be ok, now a few hours later it
starts again, no domestic water left so it stops, just filling now (2nd time
today)

Confused /....

Any help / experience / things to try would be appreciated,

Thanks
