Hi,
I am very interested your software as it might suit my needs: I want to control
multiple cameras which are not over $200 and for which I know I can get a large
number of them if necessary
I'm running a research project in which I will be installing a couple of tens
of cameras in a large supermarket. The cameras will be taking pictures of the
shelves and a computer will process the images, recognize the products in the
camera images, and send out alerts when product are no longer on the shelves.
There are the following the 'constraints':
- The cameras need to be as cheap as possible (I might need about a hundred per
shop...). Ideally around the $100 or $200 price range
- One computer controls a couple of cameras (probably between 3-10 cameras per
computer) and fetches and deletes the images from those cameras
- The cameras needs to take only one picture every couple of seconds (up to a
max of a couple of tens of seconds between images)
- The camera needs to be robust enough needs to take picture and send them to
the computer continuously every minute, 16 hours per day, 7 days per week,
every week of every month
- The camera needs to be of a reasonable resolution (preferably at least 5MP)
Do you have any advice?
Can the capture software handle this?
Which cameras would be best to use? (any of the following is an option: network
cameras, camera phones, point and click cameras, and webcams)
