As far as i got a smelth of your describtion. It there is some idea with batch files
what is used by the GWI company and the Orbis software. So we need a
communication server because its hard to connect with TCP/IP. Possible
with the eGate server what is used by Bagnan from Australia inside her
thesis. She is leaving the care2x developement but i very often put
the URL and the main results to the list. Her conclusion is highly
interesting.

Where are the exact places for connection?

I was testing the php HL7 API some time ago The code is based of
Dokter Wyldebeasts HL7 perl tool. It was tested with a proprietary
tool that the developer showed at a HL7 conference some years ago.
Prof. Dudek the German HL7 papal took some look at it and thinks it is
fine.

We need a lot of thinking about performance, the security concepts...
C++ inside a Apache Modul? EG. Tomcat and Java servlets because of the sandbox -
security?

Developers take a look to the highly interesting resources of the *Gunther Schadow's
ProtoGen/HL7
His page is out of the net but we have the luck that it is stored
inside the Web Archive :-)

http://web.archive.org/web/20030625084943/http://aurora.rg.iupui.edu/~gunther/

My question is at the moment is there a small concept available. Which
HL7 exactly you support?
