Fair point, the new coloring is pretty difficult on the eye. I am no CSS 
expert, but I will see if I can just pull in the relevant CSS classes for 
alerts. That should restore the theme to be not as much screamish :)

Looks like that file changed the display of inline code snippets 
fairly significantly. While I can live with a color other than green, 
I think we should avoid red since that typically connotes a warning. 
Was the change to red intentional?
