I replaced the piping on my '82 last year, and was able to re-use the insulation and tape. Even though the white tape got pretty dirty from exhaust soot during the removal, it was intact. I just secured it at intervals with new stainless steel wire. Are you able to re-use yours???????

OK, I have all new pipe fittings to make an exhaust pipe but I can't find anything, other than header tape, to insulate the it with. Any suggestions? The old stuff looks like asbestos, is it?And one last question. Has anyone converted an older raw water cooled engine over to fresh water cooling?Thank you!Ray Winkle
