New cushion foam and washing the covers made a HUGE
difference for us. I was ready to just buy new cushions the smell was bothering
me so much.
Well worth the hassle and expense. Go to your local fabric
store that caries upholstery fabric. They will have foam.
I cut mine with a hacksaw blade. I'm sure there is a better
way but it worked for me.
Covers went one at a time into our front loader washing
machine. The bead along the edge got slightly messed up but not too much trouble
to fix.

Actually, the diesel smell is a bit strong, too. I found out that filling (over filling) leads to diesel in the bilge which the owner's manual warns will happen. I've cleaned the cushion covers but have not been able to get the smell out of the cushions. Any thoughts of helping the cushions smell better?
