tf Agree with your loose footed main thing, sure are much easier to trim correctly.
Would appreciate your comments, my main which came with my boat is fully battened and about 16 inches short of the maximum length permitted by Catalina Specs. Since I race, my guess is that I would much be better off with a main that was much closer to the maximum height permitted by Class rules. I raise my main to the top black stripe since in Louisville we don't have heavy air very often, some years never.
