The raw water intake clamshell under the boat could be clogged. Most likely, your heat exchanger needs cleaning. You can take it to a radiator shop for cleaning, or do it yourself with muratic acid, but be careful, that is nasty stuff.

Listees,Need your expertise........ We have a 1986 C27 with a Universal M-18. After about 2 hours of motoring, we over heat and the warning buzzer goes off - around 200 degrees F. I've checked the fresh water intake screen and that's clear. I've also inspected the freshwater impeller and that is in very good condition. I checked the coolant when changing the oil in June and was surprised to see it low. Added about 3 cups. It's still over heating after an extended period of running. Where else should I be looking? Thanks,Mike MunnKatie Bay-B#6154Benicia, CA
