Just a hint.  When I lift the mast (At out Boat Club we have a lift  that is 
used just for this purpose) and disconnect the wire-plug on the inside  of the 
mast, I first place a 2x4 block under the mast just in case.  If  that mast 
slides out of the harness, or the rope brakes when your fingers  are under it, 
you are going to lose them. With the wood block in place the  mast will first 
hit the block and not your fingers. Just a word for  for precaution.
