Thanks. Makes perfect sense....what's interesting is that this is the first time in the 10 years that I've had the boat that the light has illuminated. I'll have to do some debugging.

Yep, it's the power on light. It should turn on any time your 12V is
powered up by the battery selector switch. There must be a loose
connection in there somewhere.
