Thanks to you and the others who replied to my post. I, too, have been
thinking about using a small, 5K window AC. (Mostly for costI'm cheap!) I
thought the Cruiseair, at a low enough price, might be a more elegant solution.
And, I hope you post the pictures to the list.
I've thought about the companionway mount as, perhaps, the easiest; at the
same time, it would be awkward getting in and out of the cabin. My thought was
to mount the AC on 2x4s spanning the cockpit seats. With carpet wrapping the
boards, it should be fairly easy to push the unit back and forth for entry.
Then, too, I already have a 3" Nicro deck plate in the overhead of the
saloon. If I fashioned some kind of a "shroud" over the outler vent of the AC
I could run a flexible hose (like a dryer hose) to the deck plate.
Maybe next year...
