Hi, Steve. On my boat, which was built just four units after yours (#3495), I had a pushpit. Well, that's what I called it--got the name from a book, which apparently not everyone has read <grin>. I sold mine to Mark (since he didn't seem to find anyone who wanted to swim in Lake Ponchartrain) and he calls it a Stern Pulpit, something he is fully entitled to do because he's paid for it. I'm welding my own new davit/stern rail system just to avoid the naming controversy.
So your ladder is mounted on the rail? Mine was mounted offcenter so a swimmer, or Tim Ford, if he ever wins his man-overboard wager, could climb aboard and duck under the rail. Still seems awkward to me, since I'm 6'2" and not so flexible as I'd like to be. But you could try that (I still have my swim ladder and brackets) or get a good welder to make you something like Phil's got (which is pretty close to what I've drawn up, actually). There is currently a ladder mounted on it, and the rail makes it a bit awkward at best to get on board. Steve Bayless #3491 "Liebchen" Port Huron, MI
