Bob, after offering a very hearty agreement to all that Phil said (with over 30 years in electrical engineering myself, I can vouch for the facts as he puts 'em), I can offer you some advice on the pulpit wiring: I believe, sadly, that you're going have to bite the bullet and remove the pulpit mount screws, then break the pulpit away from its bedding. I'd be willing to bet that you've got one of two problems: either the bedding compound has squeezed around the wiring and trapped it where the wires go through the mounting flange and enter the hole in the deck, or the pulpit flange exit hole is just enough offset from the wire passage hole in the deck that the wire is crimped at the junction and held mechanically.
If you don't want to face removal, an alternative would be to run a new bicolor bow light, or pair of single bow lights, that are NOT wired through the pulpit. Good luck, regardless... So, my question still stands as : Has anyone ever rewired their NAV lights throught the pulpit?????
