Bob, I have an 86 model, what I call a Mk II, so it may not be the same. The
wire runs down the port side of the pulpit down thru a hole in the deck. Yours
is probably full of sealant. You will probably have to take the pulpit off or
at least loose to pull the wires out. I installed a deck plate in the anchor
well to access the nuts on the port cleat. There is no other way that I know
of to reach them. The bonus is that now I can reach back in there and grab the
light wires. That might be an easier way to get to yours.

Listees,
On my 1984 the nav light sits in front of the pulpit. Has anyone replaced the
nav light wiring running thru the bow and stern pulpits? I have removed the
wood veneer in the bow just in front of the anchor locker. I have corrosion
where the RED/Black wiring meets the duplex wiring which runs thru the pulpit
to the nav lights.
I have cut the wiring at the RED/BLACK - Duplex butt connectors in order to
replace the duplex wiring ( which I have already purchased).
My question is: I can not budge the old pulpit/duplex wiring in either
direction. I have tugged, pulled and pushed the pulpit wiring from both sides (
outside the pulpit at the nav light and also from inside from the anchor locker
area. No Luck
I think the opening in the pulpit where the light sits is just too small to
pull or push this wire through.
Any sugggestions????????
