This question has been bantered around for a while. I purchased an '81 boat last spring and it had a Honda 9.9 4 stroke with a custom bracket. I have attached a picture. The bracket works well, but I have to use remote lines to pull and push the tilt lever. It isn't the best solution but it does work. I do recall when looking I saw a late 70s boat with a 9.9, 4 stroke Tohatsu that had made a small modification to the top of the "hole" to make it fit. It seemed like a workable solution.
Joe McCary Aeolus II, West River, MD [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Lesley C. Quin Hi all. I'm pretty sure this question has been asked before so excuse me for going into it again. Has anyone out there found a newer model (4 stroke) motor that fits onto the stern of a older OB model C27 without having to modify the stern of the boat? I am looking to replace the old Johnson 9.9 that has done yeoman's duty for years but REALLY don't want to get into mounting brackets, etc. Maybe a Nissan 8.0 or such? Many thanks in advance.
