Well . . . The waves were more like 2-3' (there was no swell) and it dropped a to 2 or less as the wind steadied out at 12-15 for most of the night and the nearly full moon rose.? It was an absolutely GEORGEOUS evening.? We could see everything and everyone.?We finished at 7am, with a decent breeze the whole way.? For a 45 mile race that's better than 4 knots average made good to windward, not bad in a 27' clorox bottle.
As for doing the sail on the 27, a few sharp corners is the only complaint.? No it's not a 40' cocktail launch, nor a 43' sailing patio.? But it's great fun to sail, and we'll be playing at Screwpile (1 of 3 C-27's) by racing?every day in a fleet of 14 where we have the highest rating.? Actually talked to guy in Solomons today doing non-spin because he can't beat a well sailed 27.? Oh yeah, we'll be at the parties too.
