We were waiting for wind, I was taking a swim. RC came on and said there was a massive storm with hail and lightning approaching from the south...we thought he was joking...the skies were clear blue. So everyone went back to shore and waitied on shore...then sure as shootin', the skies turned black with one of the most ominous looking wall clouds I've ever seen (and I DO have photographs). It got windy and rained but not that much lightning...but guess what? The storm came in from the NORTH NORTHWEST.
The guy must've been on acid when he said from the south.... I took a nap and woke up to the sound of 3 horns...then about a half hour later Carl and I left for HHN...7 hours, the diesel kept losing revs...we had 8-10 though at about 80 apparent for a nice sail up the bay. Glad you all made it safely and 57 apparent in nothing to sneeze at...I doubt we saw over 30 in Back Creek, Solomons. cool regatta and I'm sticking to it. ferd > I bet it was eventful down there today if they were still on the water > when that storm blew through.  We were on our way back north.  Sent our > wives below with the baby and Julian I rode it out just point the bow into > the weather.  We saw about 57 knots apparent until the wind instrument > gave up and just showed 0.0 till it blew through.d > > > > What is the word tf? > > > > > Chris > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Deborah Meyers <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: [email protected] > Sent: Mon, 21 Jul 2008 10:41 pm > Subject: Re: catalina27-talk: Yesterdays sail/Solomons race. > > > > > > > > That is one pretty boat!
